Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

It was good. I liked Survive the Night better. It was spooky but not overly scary. It was more of the ambiance. It reminded me of and combo between House on Haunted Hill and Amityville Horror with much less horror. I have to say I hate snakes, even just reading about them.
Maggie and her family escape a house 25 years prior. Maggie inherits the house, still owned by her family. Her father wrote a story about the house and how they had to escape. Most think the story has been sensationalized, as are most stories like these.
I really enjoy Riley Sager’s writing. His mysteries are entertaining.
